Book I'm reading: The Book of Records by Madeleine Thien

Truthfully, I have started listening to this on Audible because I started getting a little lost in the richness of her text. I received this as a Christmas gift, I'm sure because of the father-daughter relationship and search for refuge. I love storytelling and I want to continue to improve. I do not have hope of reaching this level, but I love it. I appreciate that my friend believes I am intelligent enough to follow along and understand. Maybe I will with the audio version.

Using someone elses words, The Book of Records is decribed as "a work of historical and speculative fiction that explores memory, time, and storytelling through the story of a young girl, Lina, who meets historical figures like Spinoza, Du Fu, and Hannah Arendt at a liminal place called "The Sea". The novel weaves together these figures' struggles with oppression and exile with Lina's own journey to understand her father's past, using stories as a way to find shelter, meaning, and a sense of home across centuries. It's praised as an ambitious, poetic, and deeply human novel about resilience, guilt, and the search for redemption."

Testimonial I'm loving: Voyage Dallas Interview with Me

This was a fun interview. They let me just rattle on and on. I was surprised by how much my friends didn't know about me. Check it out and see what new things you learn.

Product I'm trying: Organic Vegetable Glycerine on my face

My skin gets dry and flaky in the cooler temps of winter. It looks terrible. A drop or two of vegetable glycerine covers my whole face and has made a remarkable improvement. Vegetable glycerin is a powerful humectant that draws moisture into the skin, providing intense hydration, enhancing the skin barrier, and smoothing texture. Suitable for all skin types, it softens dry, cracked skin, helps manage acne without clogging pores, and promotes faster wound healing. It also acts as a soothing agent, often reducing irritation.

Song I'm dancing to: Wait a Minute! by Willow

She wrote this when she was fourteen. The lyrics first caught my attention. "I left my consciousness in the sixth dimension." I havent' stopped dancing and singing.
