Humankind, Heroes, and more...

My Friday Five. Five things I've been pondering and exploring this week.

Health concept I'm pondering: Synthroid

Over the past six weeks my TSH has gone from 9.66 to 19.33. During that time I took several supplements that friends and colleagues had recommended and had success in helping subclinical hypothyroid. My symptoms are not typical and have only been highlighted since the first high reading. My main symptoms are daily migraines reaching a pain level around 7/10 fatigue that will put me out cold for hours. I started Synthroid three days ago much to the chagrin of some and the joy of others. Only time will tell...

Product I'm exploring: Instapot

I was given an Instapot last Christmas and I think I've used it five times. I like warm foods and soup and oatmeal, but it never crosses my mind to use it. Since it's getting colder and I think I need practice using it I've committed to myself to make a recipe a week for two months and give it a real effort in creating deliciousness.

Quote I'm meditating:

"My heroes are the ones who survived doing wrong, who made mistakes, but recovered from them." - Bono

Book I'm skimming: Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari

I'll admit I didn't read this one, but listened to it on Audible. I have the hard cover version, but after six pages I knew I needed to listen to it if I was going to get through it. A few things that left an impression on me are: happiness and meaningfulness are not the same for everyone, luxuries can become necessities and farming kind of ruined it for everyone.

Music I'm enjoying: How Come You Never Go There by Feist

I love her poetry and the line "my bear has lost its innate calm".
