The perfect song to get Jiggy

My Friday Five. Five things I've been implementing and exploring this week.

Health idea I've implemented: Perfect Bars

I love home cooked, healthy meals. I also love my active, on-the-go lifestyle. I can usually balance the two by grocery shopping and making time to food prep. When life doesn't allow that I grab a Bright Bar and a Perfect Bar as I'm running out the door. I mentioned Bright Bars in a previous blog here. I discovered I have a peanut sensitivity and only eat the almond ones. The Bright Bars are light and refreshing and the Perfect Bars are heavier and dense. It keeps me satisfied and my brain as sharp as possible when I'm away from the house and kitchen.

Product I'm using: Comphy Sheets

I've been using the same Comphy sheets in clinic for over two years and they still look new. I wash them 4-5 times per week and they haven't lost their color. They are more expensive than some other sheets you can find, but they have far outlasted the sheets I used when I was an acupuncturist at Cooper Fitness in Craig Ranch. The good news is they have a line designed for home. The bad news is they have a terrible return policy.

Quote I'm meditating: Dancing is the hidden language of the soul. - Martha Graham

Documentary I'm watching: Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives

The incredible story of the dedication to music is not the main thing I got out of the Clive Davis documentary. I was moved by the power that one person can have in our lives. It's that reminder that we all matter and we impact people's lives without even knowing it. I'm not talking about the incredible number of risks Clive took or the hundreds of musicians he helped find an audience. What moved me the most about this documentary is how much time was spent on Whitney Houston. He has made so many careers both in front of the mic and behind. The majority of people he worked with followed him wherever he went to work. The heartfelt sadness and beauty he still has for Whitney sticks with me. I'm sure she never knew the number of lives she's touch. I'm sure you don't either.

Music I'm dancing and singing to: Gettin' Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith

It's a really fun video too!
