My Friday Five
Five things I've been implementing and exploring this week.
Totality
Book I’m Reading: Never Split The Difference by Chris Voss
Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It by Christ Voss has been meandering across my path for over a year. My curiosity finally got the best of me and I picked it up. I avoided reading it because I thought it would be pushy and manipulative. I have never thought of myself as a good negotiator. He breaks it down and explains how the process is not a manipulation. Reading and better understanding the process makes me ready to purchase my next car. If you haven't heard of Chris Voss, he is another one of those people that fascinates me. Truth be told, most people fascinate me, and he is in my line of sight now. I love learning about people and hearing their stories. Voss was a hostage negotiator for the FBI. Each chapter starts with a real negotiation. He breaks down what went right and what went wrong. He was successful because of his willingness to look at how to do things differently and to analyze the events. He learned from people who didn't have his qualifications or experience and encouraged listening for a deeper understanding of people. I am a better communicator after reading this book.

Health Idea I'm Implementing: Echo Hydrogen Water Bottle
This one is probably a bust and I was probably taken by the great marketing people that project themselves as health experts. It's not the first, but maybe, just maybe this could be the last! I learned about hydrogen water from a friend who went to Reno and took hydrogen baths when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The cancer still took his life, but he died without ever having suffered from any pain. He never took pain medication or received an injection. The baths are $3000 each, and you must take at least six of them. The Echo hydrogen water bottle was more affordable. I don't know what I am supposed to feel, but based on the "reviews" online I should be superwoman by now. I keep drinking the recommended 50 ounces per day, but honestly, I feel I have been bamboozled by this one. Let me know your experience if you've tried hydrogen water.
